Gemstone Texture Pack
When I tried to find gemstone textures for Pharaoh's Frenzy, I searched everywhere. I was looking for free, high-quality textures that I could drop into gameSpace and then apply to gem models I'd made. I also wanted them to be multi-use, as gameSpace has an excellent library system. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any. General stone textures were fairly common, but nothing noticeable as a specific gemstone. Hence, the Gemstone Texture Pack was born.
Originally, to be one texture pack of gems and minerals, it grew far too large for a single release. The Gemstone Texture Pack will, therefore, be the first of several packs. It contains high quality, tileable textures simulating gemstones. I've been posting plan updates to the Garage Games forums, and the response has been very encouraging. People already have ideas for how to use the textures, ranging from dragon's scales, to alien eyes, to planet textures. I'm really excited that they have such wide appeal!
Because of the incredible response, the amount of work it took to realize this "small" project, and the fact that it ballooned to around 435 textures in 34 categories, I've decided to release the Gemstone Texture Pack at the pre-release price of $9.99. The next two pages contain screenshots of the various textures. These textures have been zipped into an archive, each in its own individual file, ready to drop into the art program or game engine of your choice. Once purchased, these textures are available for your use, with very few restrictions (although credit is always appreciated).
